Schedule 8 medicines (including strong pain relief, sedatives, and some stimulant medications) carry a higher risk of dependence and are strictly regulated in Queensland. In line with RACGP guidelines and QScript monitoring requirements, our GPs do not prescribe these medications at a first consultation, and any ongoing prescribing is based on a full clinical assessment and regular review.
