Need Urgent Care? Evercare provides an alternative

Skip the long waits—Evercare offers weekend and after-hours care on Brisbane’s northside, often with same-day availability.

If you get sick or injured after hours or on the weekend you may need some medical assistance. There is no need to search for “urgent care near me” or a “weekend doctor”, Evercare can often help you just as effectively – often sooner.

Before you wait in line, check with us first. If you’re already an Evercare patient, our out of hours Care Team can access your medical history giving you the continuity of care you deserve and it won’t cost you any more (your consultation will have no gap fees).

What urgent care can Evercare provide?

The Australian Government describes urgent care as when you need medical attention for an illness or injury that can be managed without a trip to the emergency department, but cannot wait for a regular appointment with a general practitioner (GP).

Evercare offers extended hours, allowing our patients to access their regular clinic, even in those urgent situations.

Evercare is ideal for many urgent but non-emergency medical concerns, including:

  • Fevers, colds, and flu symptoms
  • Minor injuries (sprains, strains, small cuts)
  • Skin infections, rashes, and allergies
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Prescription renewals and referrals
  • Sports injuries, back and neck pain
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Minor eye and ear problems
  • Respiratory illness
  • Gastroenteritis or stomach pain
  • General medical advice

*Please note additional fees may apply for treatment room consumables

When should I go to emergency?

For serious medical concerns, always go straight to the hospital emergency. This includes:

  • Difficulty breathing or severe allergic reactions
  • Chest pain, suspected stroke, or heart issues
  • Serious wounds, deep cuts, or heavy bleeding
  • Major fractures or head injuries

Telehealth or in clinic urgent care appointments

Evercare Clayfield is open for in clinic appointments:

  • Most weekdays between 7:30am and 5:30pm
  • Saturdays

Telehealth appointments are available at Evercare most week nights and on Sundays too.

If you need an appointment that doesn’t relate to a physical injury, telehealth is a great option, allowing you to speak to a health professional from the convenience of your own home.

How much does urgent care cost at Evercare?

If you are already an Evercare member, your urgent care appointment will not incur any additional fees. There will be no out of pocket costs (providing you are Medicare eligible).

If you are not yet an Evercare member, you can join Evercare now (our membership cost is between $22-$45 a month, pause at any time) and once you’ve joined, there will be no gap fees payable for appointments.  Please note if you’re first appointment is via telehealth you will not be eligible for the Medicare rebate and you will have an out-of-pocket cost (generally $39.75) for your appointment.  Once you have seen a doctor in clinic you will then be validated for telehealth Medicare rebates in the future.

    Why use Evercare urgent care

    • You can book a time – no need to wait in a waiting room for hours. New members book online or existing patients can find a suitable time in the app.
    • Continuity of care – If your normal Evercare GP isn’t available, you can see another practitioner at Evercare. This means they can see your medication history, access your past records and be fully informed when they treat you.
    • Telehealth is available – if you’re not feeling well, sometimes it’s easier not to go out. Organise a telehealth call to suit you and you will still be speaking to a doctor at Evercare.
