Nurse Practitioners at Evercare
At Evercare, we are committed to offering flexible, high-quality healthcare to all of our members. That’s why we’ve expanded our care team to include highly qualified Nurse Practitioners (NPs). NPs bring a wealth of clinical expertise and provide a wide range of healthcare services, ensuring our patients receive timely, comprehensive care – even outside regular GP hours.
What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner, or NP, is a Registered Nurse with advanced clinical training and education, enabling them to diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of health conditions. With a Master’s degree and over 5,000 hours of advanced practice experience, NPs are skilled in providing care for both acute and chronic conditions, as well as preventative care. They work both independently and collaboratively with GPs and other healthcare professionals, offering an integrated approach to patient care.

What services do Nurse Practitioners provide?
Nurse Practitioners at Evercare offer a broad range of services, including but not limited to:
- Diagnosing and managing health conditions such as infections, minor injuries, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Prescribing medications and adjusting treatment plans.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging (X-rays, MRIs).
- Minor procedures, like wound care, biopsies, and suturing.
- Referrals to specialists or allied health services, when necessary.
- Health education and promotion, helping patients manage chronic conditions and prevent illness.
- Seamless Collaboration with Your GP for Continuity of Care
How Nurse Practitioners work with your GP
At Evercare, we understand the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with your regular General Practitioner (GP). Our Nurse Practitioners work alongside your GP, ensuring continuity of care. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition or seeking treatment for a minor issue, your NP will always keep your GP updated on your progress, so there’s never a disconnect in your overall care plan.
This approach allows you to see your GP for more complex or specialised needs while enjoying the convenience of seeing an NP for everyday health concerns or during extended hours. It’s healthcare designed around your life—without compromising the continuity and quality of care from your GP.
Why see a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners provide an excellent option for patients seeking timely, accessible care. They are available during extended hours at Evercare, making it easier for patients to access healthcare during early mornings, after business hours and on weekends.
This flexibility is particularly valuable for those with busy schedules or for non-urgent concerns that may arise outside of typical GP hours.
Nurse Practitioner appointments included in your Evercare Membership
The best part? Nurse Practitioner consultations are included in your Evercare membership and similar to GP appointments, you will pay the consult fee at the time of the appointment and be reimbursed in full from Medicare. This means that, as a member, you can access high-quality healthcare through our NPs ensuring you get the care you need, when you need it.
How to Book an Appointment
Appointments with Nurse Practitioner are available to both new and existing Evercare members. New members can simply visit our appointments page and select the most convenient appointment with either a General Practitioner or a Nurse Practitioner.
