How to register with MyMedicare at Evercare
You may have seen some news recently about the new Government “MyMedicare” program. Perhaps you’re interested in registering for MyMedicare.
MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model. It aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams.
Here at Evercare, we have already taken steps in this direction with our membership which provides fast access to a chosen GP and care team. We know that having a consistent GP and healthcare team leads to better health outcomes and the government is trying to encourage this type of relationship too.
Registering with MyMedicare
Registering with MyMedicare lets Medicare know that you have selected a regular general practice and Medicare provides some benefits to your registered practice (where relevant). For example MyMedicare patients can receive longer Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations with your GP. Further benefits will become available in time. Take a look at all the benefits on the MyMedicare website.
Some conditions do apply and to be eligible to register in MyMedicare you need to have a Medicare card or a DVA card and have two face to face visits recorded in a practice over the last 24 months (for non-remote locations).
