Assigning Medicare Rebates
Evercare is a membership based clinic and for many, bulk billing will not apply, however, there are certain circumstances where bulk billing may occur. With the introduction of our Free Kids’ Membership you may have a child who is bulk billed. If you are eligible for a bulk-billing appointment, you will need to follow a slightly different process after your appointment. Read on to see why this is the case and what you need to do.
What is bulk billing?
Bulk billing is where a patient assigns their Medicare Benefit to the Doctor as full payment for their consultation (instead of paying a consultation fee upfront and receiving a rebate back from Medicare).
What is the process?
After your Doctor’s appointment you will receive a notification in your Evercare app . This notification will assist you to assign your Medicare benefit back to your GP as payment for their consultation. Tap on the notification in your list as shown below. You will be prompted to assign the benefit by clicking the “I agree” button.
.
This process is necessary for Medicare compliance. If you do not assign your benefit to the doctor, you will be charged privately for the appointment, and you’ll receive your rebate back from Medicare. Evercare will send you a notification through the app as well as an email to ask you to assign the benefit. If your benefit is not assigned you will be charged privately for an appointment.
Please keep an eye out on for any Evercare notifications on your phone and emails and action them as soon as possible.
