Emma Hay How does Medicare assignment of benefit work?
From 1 July 2026, Medicare requires changes to assignment of benefit for people with a bulk billed appointment (e.g. children or special circumstances).
Following a bulk billed appointment, patients will be required to formally transfer the benefit from Medicare to your doctor. This can be done quickly and easily using the Evercare app. Please keep an eye out for an app notification and email asking for you to complete this process.
For patients who do not have the app, please ensure you see concierge after your bulk billed appointment or contact them with any questions.
