Corporate flu vaccines 2024 – protect your team

At Evercare, we recognise the importance of staying protected against seasonal influenza, also known as the flu. That’s why we offer comprehensive flu vaccine services to help you and your team stay healthy and resilient throughout the flu season. Here’s everything you need to know to make an informed decision and arrange a prioritised, group booking for your team at Evercare.

Why get vaccinated against the flu?

The flu, or influenza, is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can lead to mild to severe symptoms and, in some cases, even hospitalisation or death. Getting vaccinated against the flu significantly reduces your risk of contracting the virus and its potential complications.

Benefits of flu vaccination:

Protection: The flu vaccine is your best defence against influenza viruses. It stimulates your immune system to produce antibodies that provide protection against the specific strains of flu viruses included in the vaccine.

Prevention of spread: By getting vaccinated, you not only protect yourself but also those around you. Flu vaccination helps prevent the spread of the virus within your community, especially to vulnerable populations like young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

Reduced severity of illness: Even if you do get the flu after being vaccinated, the severity and duration of your symptoms are likely to be milder compared to if you hadn’t been vaccinated. This can help you recover faster and get back to your daily activities sooner.

Reduced absenteeism at work: Promoting a healthy work place has several benefits and can limit disruptions in your workplace, reduce absenteeism due to influenza and limit associated cost to the business.

Vaccines for different ages & situations:

The Australian Government’s advice is for everyone over the age of 6 months to consider an annual vaccine and to talk to your GP about getting vaccinated. Here are some other key points to consider:

  • You should not receive the influenza vaccine if you have experienced anaphylaxis after a previous dose of any influenza vaccine or anaphylaxis after any component of an influenza vaccine.
  • Influenza vaccination is recommended for pregnant women at any stage during pregnancy.
  • People aged 65 years and over have a different version of the vaccine to those under 65.
